#MaryFieldsStories Winner Announced!

Well, what a week! After months of hard work, the website was finally released! A huge thank you to everyone for their kind words and support. It is much appreciated! If you read the blog on Tuesday, I announced a mini campaign I was doing to honor all of my previous MFP clients. If you didn't get a chance to read it, check it out here. So, the time has come to announce the winner of the #MaryFieldsStories campaign! Thank you to all of you that participated and celebrated with me this week. Your words were so special and I loved getting to 'walk down memory lane' with you as you posted your favorite images. Because I had such a wonderful response to the #maryfieldsstories campaign, I decided to change my plans a little bit and do not one but TWO free portrait sessions.

Take Me Back Tuesday | #MaryFieldsStories

In the process of building this new site, I found myself going through five years worth of photos that I had taken for the sweetest MFP clients. I thumbed through gallery after gallery and in many ways, it was a walk down memory lane. Sitting in my office, I would find myself literally smiling and the stories I had told and the people whom they represented. What an amazing job I have as I get to celebrate with people in their most precious moments. So, with the new brand and site, I wanted to take some time to honor all the MFP clients who had let me capture special events in their lives. Thus began the #MaryFieldsStories campaign.

Launch Day: New Site | New Brand | Same Story-teller

It’s finally here! After months and months of work, I am so excited to finally reveal my new branding and a brand new website! My old site served me so well for my first five years of business but it was time for a little refresh and today, I get to show it to you. It’s a new brand and a new site but I am still the same story-teller! I wanted the new brand to reflect the way my business has evolved over the years but yet still hold on to the same foundation: telling stories through my lens. It’s a great privilege and I’m excited to continue doing it with all of you.

A Perkins Chapel Wedding | Rachel + Harris

A Perkins Chapel Wedding | Rachel + Harris

It was spring of 2012 and he needed a date to his fraternity’s formal. He’d only seen a picture of her from her sorority composite but was taken by how naturally beautiful she was so he took a risk and asked her to go with him. She quickly found that they had a lot in common and that though she didn’t really know him, people always had the most wonderful things to say about him. Not to mention, in her own words, ‘I thought he was a total hunk.’ They quickly found that their unexpected blind date was the start of a very beautiful love story. Not only did they share common interests but they shared a common faith and therefore a common life purpose. This, as was so evident in their wedding, is the foundation of their relationship and the reason behind all that they do.

New York City Engagements | Central Park

They met at a Halloween party a few years ago in New York City. She was a south Texas girl transplanted into the streets of NYC. He was from upstate New York, a true northern boy. The few times I’ve been to NYC, it is not hard to tell how unique it is in bringing all kinds of worlds together. Well, this great city didn’t disappoint when it helped their two worlds collide at that Halloween party. The Texas girl and the New York boy hit it off and the rest is history.

A Thank You Letter

A Thank You Letter

Yesterday, Jimmy and I talked about our first year of marriage and I was overcome by thankfulness. As I thought about writing this thank you post, I started with thinking I’d write an open thank you letter to my husband but I changed my mind.Don’t get me wrong, I have a LOT of thankful words to say to my husband but today, I am struck by a different thank you that I must write. So, here it goes.
